Ingredients needed to make achari chicken

  • 500 gm chicken breast ( cut into pieces ).

Ingredients for marinating

  • ½ tsp turmeric powder.
  • Salt to taste.
  • ¼ tsp fenugreek seeds (methi).
  • ½ tsp fennel seeds (jeera).
  • 1 tsp nigella seeds ( kalonji).
  • 1 tsp ginger garlic paste.
  • ¼ cup of yogurt.

Other ingredients

  • 3 medium onions ( finely chopped).
  • 3 tomatoes ( chopped).
  • 1 tsp ginger garlic paste.
  • 1 tsp mustard seeds ( half part seeds and half part crushed).
  • 3 nos dry red chili.
  • 2 tsp Kashmiri powder.
  • 100 ml of water.
  • 1 tsp pickle gravy.

Step by step process to make achari chicken

Step 1: marinate process

  • Firstly heat the pan and add fenugreek seeds (methi), fennel seeds (jeera) and nigella seeds ( kalonji) and sauté it for a minute on low flame.
  • Remove it to a plate and wait until cool  and after that grind it and make a fine powder.
  • Then take a large bowl  and add chicken, turmeric, half teaspoon masala powder, ginger garlic paste, salt (to taste) and yogurt  mix all the ingredients well and marinate for 1 hour.

Step 2  give tadka to chicken

  • Heat the pan and add oil to it once oil getting heated then add mustard seeds wait for a second then add red dry chili and onion and cook it for a minute.
  •  After that add ginger garlic paste and tomato and cook it for 2 minutes.
  • Now it's time to add marinated chicken to the pan and mix it well and cook it for 5 by covering the lid on low flame.
  • Then add  red chili powder, crushed mustard, remaining masala powder and pickle gravy and mix it well.
  • After that add salt ( as required) and some water to cook chicken smoothly.
  • Lastly, cook the chicken for 10  to 15 minutes or until chicken gets soft ( cook the chicken by covering lid and stir in between while cooking then chicken.
  • Your flavorful achari chicken is ready to serve.
