One-Pan Chicken Jambalaya recipe

Chicken jambalaya recipe is a simple, quick, colorful and delicious one-pan meal. This simple and hot chicken jambalaya recipe is perfect for small kitty parties, birthday parties and any small parties. This is a great recipe we can store in the refrigerator and next morning reheat and eat as breakfast.

What is jambalaya

This is influenced by French, Spanish, and west Africa. This is made with meat, rice, sausage, some vegetables and spices  these all ingredients cooked together in one pot so it is a one-pot recipe.

Ingredients needed to make chicken jambalaya

  • 3 boneless and skinless chicken breast (cut it into pieces).
  • 1 ½ tablespoon olive oil.
  • 1 celery ( chopped).
  • 1 onion ( Finely chopped ).
  • 1 red and 1 green bell peppers ( chopped).
  • 1 tablespoon tomato puree.
  • ½ cup sausage (diced).
  • ½ teaspoon crushed garlic.
  • 1 teaspoon oregano.
  • 1 cup of long-grain rice.
  • 1 teaspoon Cajun seasoning.

Step by step process to make the recipe

  1. Firstly heat the pan on medium-high flame then add oil to it once oil heated then add diced sausage and stir fry for 2 minutes.
  2. After that add crushed garlic and chicken cook it 3 to 4 minutes ( stir it in between).
  3. Then add celery, bell pepper, onion and fry it for a minute after that add oregano and Cajun seasoning mix it well.
  4.  Now add long grain  mix it and add chicken stock mix it well and cook it for 15 to 20 minutes medium-high flame by covering lid (check it in between ).
  5. If it is fully cooked then switch the flame and remove it in serving plate and serve.

What to pair with the recipe

We can pair this recipe with a green salad,  garlic bread,  cornbread or roasted broccoli.
