The methi chicken recipe is very simple, easy, and time-saving ( it is ready in 25 to 30 minutes ) recipe is mainly made with fresh methi leaves, chicken pieces, spices, and onion and tomato gravy this recipe is gravy based recipe definitely love this recipe.   • Chicken: To make a methi chicken recipe we need fresh and good quality chicken and in this recipe, I going to use chicken breast with bones.
  • Methi leaves or fenugreek leaves:  Methi leaves are healthy so that’s the recipe in this recipe I am going to use fresh fenugreek leaves and this is also the main ingredient of this recipe.
  • Onion and tomato paste: onion and tomato paste is also important ingredients recipe because it gives a delicious and creamy to the recipe.

 Ingredients needed to make methi chicken

  •  250-gram chicken breast with bones ( pieces ).
  • 1 medium size bowl of fresh fenugreek or methi leaves.
  • 2 medium size onions (  thinly sliced ).
  • 2 tomatoes ( roughly sliced ).
  • 2 teaspoon ginger garlic paste.
  • 3 teaspoons of red chili powder.
  • ½ teaspoon turmeric powder.
  • 2 green chilies.
  • 2 teaspoon curd.
  • 1 ½ teaspoons garam masala powder.
  • 1 cup coconut milk.
  • Oil ( as required ).
  • Salt ( as required ).
  • Water ( as required  ).

The process to make methi chicken recipe

  • Firstly take one small bowl and then in the bowl add chicken pieces, salt ( as needed ), turmeric powder, 2 teaspoons of red chili powder, and curd and mix it well and keep aside for 20 minutes by covering the lid.
  • Now heat the pan and add ½  tablespoon of oil, once the oil is getting hot then add onion and fry the onion for 4 to 5 minutes until it turns slightly golden brown in color.
  • Now remove the fried onion from the grinder and in that add tomato and red chilies and grind it and make a fine paste and keep aside.
  • Now once again keep a pan on medium flame add 1 teaspoon of oil and then add fenugreek leaves and fry it for 5 minutes and remove it on a small plate and keep it aside.
  • In that same pan add one tablespoon of oil once the oil is getting hot then add ginger and garlic paste and saute it for a second then immediately add onion and tomato paste and mix it for  3 to 4 minutes.
  • After that add  1 teaspoon of red chili powder and garam masala powder and mix it well.
  • Now it's time to add marinated chicken and mix it for 2 minutes then after adding fried fenugreek leaves, coconut milk, and salt ( if needed ) and mix again and give the one steam to the recipe for 2 to 3 minutes.
  • Now add one cup of water and mix it and cook it for 10 minutes by covering the lid. Once the chicken is fully cooked switch off the flame and remove the chicken in the serving bowl and serve it hot.

Serving suggestion

This healthy and delicious methi chicken recipe is served with roti, naan, and paratha and it will also be good with plane rice or jeera rice.
