South Indian Chicken Biryani Recipe: 

Ingredients needed to make biryani:

  • 1 kg of boneless and skinless chicken breast ( bite-size sliced).
  • 1 kg basmati rice. 
  • 2 Onion ( lengthwise chopped).
  • 2Tomatoes ( lengthwise chopped).
  • 4 sticks Cinnamon. 
  • 10 Cloves. 
  • 5 Cardamom. 
  • 3 to 4 green chilies. 
  • Ginger.
  • Garlic.
  • 3 tsp red chili powder.
  • 3 pinch turmeric. 
  • 3 tsp garam masala powder.
  • 3 tsp coriander powder.
  • Mint leaves.
  • Coriander leaves.
  • 3 cups curd. 
  • 150-200 ml Oil. 
  • 1 lemon. 
  • 1 tsp ghee.  
  • Salt as per taste.

Step by step process to make  south Indian biryani:

  1.  Heat up the pan then add oil and ghee in it.
  2. Add cinnamon, cardamom, and cloves in it and fry them properly.
  3. Then put green chilies in it and fry them until they turn white.
  4. After this add onion in it and fry them until they turn a golden brown color.
  5. Now add the ginger-garlic paste in it with salt stir it until the smell goes off.
  6. Now it's the time to add garam masala, red chili powder, coriander powder, and turmeric in the mixture.
  7. Stir this for 2-3 minutes on medium heat.
  8. In another pan, half boil chicken then adds this chicken and tomato in the above mixture and mix them properly for about 5 minutes. Make sure that the tomato gets fried properly.
  9. After this add curd with 2-3 cup water in it. Allow heating this mixture until the mixture gets boiled. Take the rice then wash it properly then add it in it. 
  10. Add a double quantity of water than the rice in the pan. (During the adding of water in the pan you need to understand that you already added some water before with curd and the total quantity of water s doubled than rice.)
  11. Squeeze the lemon in it and close the pan. Check out after certain time weather the rice gets properly or not.
  12. Once the rice gets properly cooked remove the heat leave it for some time to get a little cool. Then mix the chicken in the rice properly.
  13. Here's your biryani is gets ready. Garnish this biryani with Mint leaves also use lemon for it and Coriander leaves and serve it.
