  • Chicken: chicken is the main ingredient of this recipe and  I prefer to use fresh, boneless, and skinless chicken breast to make this recipe.
  • Fresh cream/malai: fresh cream or malai is the second main ingredient of this recipe and this ingredient gives a creamy taste and texture to the recipe.
  • Lemon juice:  This is totally your choice to use lemon juice or not.  But I will suggest you use lemon juice to add flavor and a tangy taste.
  • Spices: some spices are also used to make this recipe more tasty and spicy and these are coriander powder, cumin powder, mixed spices powder, red chili powder, ginger garlic powder, etc.

Ingredients needed to make chicken malai tikka

  • 250 grams chicken breast pieces.
  • 2 teaspoons lemon juice.
  • 1 small cup curd.
  • ½ teaspoon ginger garlic paste.
  • 1 ½ cup fresh cream
  • 1 tablespoon grated cheese.
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala.
  • 2 teaspoon cashew paste.
  • 1 teaspoon chopped fresh coriander.
  • ½ teaspoon red chili powder.
  • Salt ( as per taste  ).
  • Butter ( as per taste ).

Process to make chicken malai tikka

  • Firstly, take one bowl and add chicken pieces in it and then add lemon juice, ginger garlic powder, curd, and salt ( as per taste ) and mix all the ingredients well cover the bowl with foil paper and marinate it for 40 to 45 minutes.
  • Take another bowl and add fresh cream, grated cheese, cashew paste, garam masala powder, red chili powder, chopped fresh coriander, and salt ( if required ) mix all the ingredients and then add the firstly marinated chicken and mix it well and marinate it for second time for 15 to 20 minutes.
  • Now thread the chicken pieces in skewers and then grill the chicken pieces on a stovetop, BBQ, or oven until chicken pieces turn brownish in color.  
  • Your chicken malai tikka is ready to serve.
  • Serve it hot with green chutney or sauce.

Serving ideas

We can serve this chicken malai tikka recipe in many ways like tandoori naan, tandoori roti, and plain rice, and as well as we eat it like Manchurian with sauce or green chutney.

Tips to make a recipe

  • There are many ways to grill the chicken and you can use any of them means you can grill the chicken tikka on a stovetop, BBQ, or in the oven. But I will suggest you that grill the chicken in BBQ because it is a traditional way to grill the chicken.
  • In this recipe, I have used chicken breast pieces but you can use any type of chicken.
  • Grill the chicken until it feels juicy and turns brownish in color.
  • If you are going to grill chicken malai tikka in the oven then preheat the oven to 200 degrees and roast the chicken malai tikka for 15 minutes
