To make this sweet and spicy chicken we need a simple and short list of ingredients.  Now we are going to see what are the ingredients needed to make this recipe.

  • 250 grams chicken breast pieces.
  • 1 ½ teaspoon ginger garlic paste.
  • ½ cup finely chopped  onion.
  • ½ tablespoon chopped spring onion.
  • 2 teaspoons of soya sauce.
  • 1 ½  teaspoon of red chili paste.
  • 1 teaspoon of brown sugar.
  • ½ cup of peanuts.
  • 1 teaspoon of vinegar.
  • 2 teaspoon cornflour slurry.
  • 2 teaspoon lemon juice ( for marination ).
  • 1 ½ tablespoon sesame oil.
  • Salt ( as required ).
  • Water ( as required ).

The process of making kung pao chicken recipe

Now we are going to see how to make a kung pao chicken recipe with step by step process.

  • Firstly, take one large size of the bowl and add chicken breast pieces in this bowl and then add lemon juice and salt ( as required ) and then mix it well and cover it and keep it aside for 15 to 20 minutes.
  • now heat the pan on the medium pan and now add sesame oil once the oil is getting hot then add finely chopped onion and saute it until turns pinkish in color now add marinated chicken and fry it for 5 minutes.
  • then add ginger garlic paste,  red chili paste, vinegar, cornflour slurry, and soya sauce and mix it well.
  • Now add  brown sugar for a sweet taste as well as add peanuts,  salt ( if needed ) , and add water as required mix it well and cook it for 10 minutes by covering lid your Chinese kung pao chicken recipe is ready to serve.
  • Remove it to a serving bowl and sprinkle chopped spring onion on it and serve it.

Serving ideas

You serve this recipe with your choice of rice like steamed rice, plain rice or fried rice. But I will suggest it is very well go with steamed rice.

Tips

  • To make cornflour slurry, mix water in it and mix it well by shaking it.
  • If you like vegetables you can add capsicum, broccoli, and baby corns to the recipe or your choice of vegetable.
