Chicken Marsala recipe is an Italian dish made with chicken breast lightly browned and covered with chicken marsala mushroom sauce.


Other Substitutes For Marsala

If possible, try only marsala wine because substitute will change the tasty ( use below substitutes when marsala wine is not available)
  • White wine.
  • Madeira wine.
  • Red vermouth wine.
  • Sherry (dark).

Ingredients Needed To Make Chicken Marsala

Ingredients needed for coating chicken
  • 2  boneless and skinless chicken breast (cut into half) lengthwise.
  • ½ cup of cornflour.
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper powder.
  • Salt (to taste).

Others Ingredients
  • ½ tablespoon olive oil ( to cook chicken breast).
  • 1 ½  tablespoon butter ( to cook chicken breast).

Ingredients needed to make marsala sauce
  • 8 ( ounces) brown mushroom (half sliced).
  • 1/2  tablespoon olive oil.
  • 1  tablespoon butter (divided in half).
  •  2/3 cup chicken broth.
  • 3/4 cup marsala wine.
  • 3/4 cup heavy cream.
  • 2 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste.
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder.
  • Pinch of black pepper powder.
  • Salt ( to taste).

Step By Step Process To Make Chicken Marsala
  • Take one shallow bowl and mix the cornflour, black pepper powder and salt.
  • Then take half part of the chicken breast and deep it in cornflour and coat the chicken both sides and shake of excess flour.
  • Heat the pan and add olive oil and butter and cook the chicken breast on medium flame until it turns in golden brown color ( cook each side of chicken for 5 minutes).
  • Remove the chicken breast from the pan and keep aside.
  • Now its time to make marsala sauce.                                                               
  • Then again add butter and olive oil in  the pan and heat it and add mushrooms, ginger garlic paste, onion powder, black pepper powder and sauté it for 3 to 4 minutes on high flame until mushrooms turn smooth and browned in color.
  • Now add marsala wine, chicken broth and salt ( to taste) and cook  it for 5 minutes then add the cream mix it well then add chicken breast and pour the sauce on chicken breast and cook for 2-3 minutes.
  • Chicken marsala  is ready to serve.
  • Garnish with chopped parsley and serve it with garlic bread or noodles.


Serving Suggestions
  • Serve this creamy and delicious chicken marsala with salad, potatoes, plain rice, garlic bread, roasted broccoli or noodles.
