In this recipe
chicken is marinated in egg, cornflour, salt, and spices and then fried in oil
( deep fry) and seasoned sauces to give
best Chinese chicken flavor.
It is savory, spicy and sweet Chinese recipe made with
boneless chicken, green chilies, Bell peppers, chili sauce, soy sauce and
ginger-garlic paste.

Ingredients needed to make chili chicken recipe
- 250 grams Boneless and skinless chicken breast ( roughly chopped).
- Cooking oil (for deep frying).
Ingredients needed to marinate chicken
- 2 ½ tablespoon cornflour.
- 1 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste.
- 1 teaspoon soy sauce.
- ½ teaspoon vinegar.
- 1 egg (egg white).
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper powder.
- Salt to taste.
Ingredients needed for seasoning
- 1 teaspoon soy sauce.
- 1 ½ tablespoon red chili sauce.
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper powder
- 1 teaspoon brown sugar.
- 1 tablespoon tomato sauce.
- 1 teaspoon vinegar.
- 1 small cup cornflour slurry.
- 50 ml of water.
- Salt to taste.
Veggies for recipe
- ½ tablespoon garlic (minced).
- 1 tablespoon spring onion (white).
- ½ teaspoon spring onion (green).
- 1 cup chopped bell peppers (Red and green).
- 3 to 4 green chilies (sliced lengthwise).
Step by step process to make chili chicken recipe
- Firstly marinate the chicken.
- Take one large bowl and add chicken, cornflour, ginger garlic paste, soy sauce, vinegar, 1 egg (egg white), black pepper powder.
- Mix it well and coat the chicken.
- Then heat oil for deep frying once the oil is hot then drop the marinated chicken pieces and shallow fry them.
- Cook until chicken turn soften and lightly brown color, do not overcook.
- Soak the excess oil with tissue paper
- Heat one pan then add oil once is getting hot then add minced garlic and green chilies and sauté it for a minute on high flame.
- Then add white onion, red & green bell peppers mix it and cook for 2 to 3 minutes.
- Then add black pepper powder, soy sauce, red chili sauce, tomato sauce, brown sugar, vinegar, cornflour slurry, water and salt to taste mix all the ingredients well and cook it for 5 minutes on medium flame.
- After 5 minutes add fried chicken and green spring onion mix it well and coat the chicken in gravy and cook for another 5 minutes.
- Chili chicken is ready to serve.
- Remove the chili chicken in serving bowl and garnish with chopped green spring onion.

Tips to make chili chicken
- Cook the vegetables on high flame to keep the crunchiness of vegetables.
- Be careful when you are adding salt because of the soy sauce It also has salt.
